Anshul Sharma is a self-taught artist based in Toronto, working primarily with painting. They began their art practice in 2022, following a long-standing career in software engineering. Their work explores stillness, solitude, and the quiet emotional atmosphere of private spaces and public environments emptied of people.
Artist Statement
My work often centers around interiors and overlooked in-between spaces - empty kitchens, corners of transit stations, late-night routines - spaces that feel emotionally charged despite being quiet and still. I’m drawn to the slow, meditative quality of painting and how it allows these quiet moments to be held, examined, and transformed.
